ZooLights, one of Chicago’s most beloved winter traditions, returns to Lincoln Park Zoo with millions of lights, seasonal decorations and a lineup of activities for visitors of all ages.
Millions of lights and a dazzling holiday atmosphere
During ZooLights, the entire zoo transforms into a glowing holiday landscape filled with illuminated pathways, themed displays and light tunnels perfect for photos. Each year brings new visual elements, ensuring that even returning guests have something new to enjoy.
Activities, special programs and themed nights
ZooLights offers a wide variety of attractions, from winter rides and creative activities for kids to festive drinks and treats for adults.
A major highlight of the season is the schedule of themed evenings, including: 
Member Preview Night – exclusive members-only access on November 20
Sensory-Friendly Night – reduced lights and sound for sensory-sensitive visitors on November 25
Holiday Market – a showcase of local artists and makers on December 2
A Charlie Brown Christmas – live jazz performance by the Chris White Jazz Trio on December 7
Adults Night Out: Holidaze – a 21+ holiday cocktail evening on December 11
Elf Movie Party – an interactive film experience on December 21
New Year’s Eve at ZooLights – an early, family-friendly celebration on December 31
These themed nights offer unique ways to enjoy ZooLights and make the event welcoming for a broad range of visitors.
Ticket prices: $7–$12, flexible option and free Mondays
Fixed-date tickets range from $7 to $12 depending on the day and are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
A flexible ticket, priced at $20, allows visitors to attend on any date of their choosing.
Free Admission Mondays provide complimentary entry every Monday except December 22, with online registration required one week in advance at 11 a.m. CT.
Tips for an enjoyable visit
Tickets must be purchased online through the official Lincoln Park Zoo website, and parking near the zoo is limited. Public transportation or rideshare is strongly recommended. The event takes place in all weather conditions, creating an authentic winter experience.
ZooLights runs from November 21, 2025 through January 4, 2026, offering one of Chicago’s most enchanting holiday outings.
