Chicago’s August 21–23 weekend brings a wide mix of neighborhood celebrations, food events, live music, art and sports across the city. From Southport and Fulton Market to the lakefront, Ravenswood and Little Village, residents and visitors will have a wide range of events and activities to choose from throughout the weekend.
Among the events scheduled during that stretch are Lakeview Taco Fest, West Loop Art Fest, Chicago Triathlon, Chicago Bulls Fest, Chalk Howard Street, Thirsty Ears Music Fest, Dine Out on Broadway and Villapalooza.
Food and neighborhood events in Lakeview
Two of the weekend’s food-centered events are happening in the Lakeview area. Lakeview Taco Fest runs from August 21–23 on Southport, giving festivalgoers one option for a three-day neighborhood outing. 
Also taking place from August 21–23 is Dine Out on Broadway in Lakeview East, adding another event to the weekend lineup on the North Side.
Art, music and community celebrations
For visitors interested in arts programming, West Loop Art Fest is set for August 22 and 23 in Fulton Market.
Farther north, Chalk Howard Street takes place on August 22 in Rogers Park, while Thirsty Ears Music Fest is scheduled for August 22 and 23 in Ravenswood.
The list also includes Villapalooza, which is slated for August 22 in Little Village.
A weekend for sports fans too
The city’s event calendar also includes major sports-related attractions. Chicago Triathlon is being held on August 22 and 23 on the lakefront, while Chicago Bulls Fest is scheduled for August 22 and 23 at United Center.
