3rd Folklorijada in Chicago Brought Together Ensembles From the U.S. and Canada

The third Folklorijada in Chicago gathered ensembles from the U.S. and Canada for a weekend of tradition, dance, music, and community.

This year’s third “Folklorijada” once again showed how much and how carefully our tradition is preserved in the United States and Canada.

The host of this two-day event was the folklore group “SOKO” on the grounds of the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection of Christ on Redwood Drive in Chicago.

Visitors were able to enjoy a rich cultural and artistic program, performances by numerous folklore ensembles, a generous raffle, as well as homemade specialties and socializing with music and dancing late into the night.

Folklore groups from Chicago and other parts of Illinois, as well as guests from other parts of America (New York, Milwaukee, Detroit, Paterson, Schererville) and Canada (Vancouver, Mississauga, Hamilton, Oakville, Winona) created a fantastic atmosphere.

The audience had the chance to enjoy a large number of choreographies performed by folklore groups on two stages. Older groups performed on the large stage, while younger groups showed their skills on the smaller stage.
