Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will face off in the Australian Open quarterfinals on Tuesday morning, around 2:30 a.m. Chicago time (10:30 a.m. Central European Time). The highly anticipated match will follow the clash between Aryna Sabalenka and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Rod Laver Arena.
The day’s schedule kicks off with Coco Gauff taking on Paula Badosa, followed by a matchup between Alexander Zverev and Tommy Paul.
Djokovic and Alcaraz have met seven times before, with Djokovic leading their head-to-head 4-3. This includes his victory in their most recent encounter, the final of the Olympic Games last year.
The two have played once on outdoor hard courts, where Djokovic triumphed in an epic final at Cincinnati in 2023. However, this will be their first-ever meeting on a hard-court Grand Slam stage.
The winner of this quarterfinal clash will face either Zverev or Paul in the semifinals.
