The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago strongly denied today the allegations published by the portal Slavija Info, which two days ago claimed that the building and interior of the consulate displayed the flag of the so-called Kosovo.
We publish the denial in full and without alterations:
“On the website of the portal ‘Slavija Info,’ on December 7, 2025, a text was published under the title ‘Has Vučić officially recognized the so-called Kosovo in Chicago? Shock, anger and disbelief among Serbs!,’ with the subtitle ‘At the Serbian consulate in Chicago, alongside our flag, the flag of the so-called Kosovo is flying’!
We strongly deny the truthfulness of this story and demand that the portal remove the text and publish a correction. The photographs published in the article were generated using artificial intelligence (AI), which is clearly indicated by the mark located in the lower right corner, as confirmed through verification via an AI-content detection program.
The published content represents a brutal lie and manipulation by irresponsible individuals who, through falsehoods and fabricated photographs, seek to further divide the Serbian people and demean the institution of their home state.
We wish to inform, in the most well-intentioned manner, that the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago continuously implements measures and actions aimed at protecting the property and premises of the diplomatic-consular mission, that photographing within the consulate premises is prohibited, and that such actions cannot go unnoticed and represent a gross violation of the rules by irresponsible individuals.
At the same time, we inform the public that the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago is a home for all Serbs and people of good will, where everyone is welcome.”
Respectfully,
Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia
Chicago – United States of America
