A charity festival and the 3rd Chicago mowing competition were held yesterday on the grounds of St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville. All proceeds collected during yesterday’s event are intended for the restoration of the monastery residence, that is, the St. Mardarije Center.
Build ourselves in, Mardarije pleads – let us help the saint restore the residence!
The organizers of this event were St. John the Baptist Church from Bellwood, St. Stefan Dečanski Church on Leland Avenue, and the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection of Christ from Palmer Square.
Visitors had the opportunity to watch the competition of mowers at the 3rd Chicago mowing event, a bocce tournament, as well as a rich cultural and artistic program. There was something for everyone. Singing groups and folklore ensembles performed, a raffle was organized, and the youngest visitors had their own corner as well. Along with all that, visitors were also able to enjoy numerous specialties of traditional home-style cuisine.
