Last night, an event titled “Princess’s Night” was held at Pella Signature restaurant in Burr Ridge, where Princess Danica Karađorđević shared her views on the world with the audience. Among other things, she spoke about raising children, family values, and the preservation of national and cultural identity.
The Princess also shared personal experiences from her childhood abroad, her studies, what it was like living in Paris and London, and the decision to return to Belgrade, which she says was the best decision they ever made.
Today she lives in the Serbian capital with her husband Filip and their two children, while Prince Stefan is the first Karađorđević to be born in Serbia since 1928. 
Princess Danica on women, family, and modern society
During the panel, Princess Danica spoke about the role of women in contemporary society, the emancipation that brought deserved freedoms to women, but also about how those freedoms have led to changing roles within the modern family, which in turn has weakened the role of men, that is, husbands, resulting in a large number of divorces and a weakening of the traditional family.
Guests had the opportunity to ask Princess Danica questions, and the discussion touched on preserving and losing identity in the diaspora, assimilation in the distant world, and language as the foundation of that identity.
“Serbian Camp” also presented
The “Serbian Camp” project was also presented, organized by the Royal Foundation and “Serbian Times.” Starting next year, the camp is expected to bring together children and young people from the diaspora and the homeland in one place. The goal of the camp is to strengthen and build ties that would guarantee the preservation of national identity and the unity of the Serbian people.
Prince Filip spoke about the Royal Foundation and the Serbian economy
At the end of the panel, the Princess was joined by her husband, Hereditary Prince Filip, who moved those present with the words he used to describe his life companion. He then spoke about the projects of the Royal Foundation, from agriculture to raising funds for the restoration of the Hilandar metochion and investments in the Serbian economy.
The royal couple, as throughout their entire stay in Chicago, mingled with the people, spoke with them, and posed for photographs.
