If you want to vote in the upcoming parliamentary election scheduled for October 25 of this year and have not yet registered, you still have a little time to do so.
Because of the heavy workload, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago is working intensively, something we had an opportunity to see firsthand when submitting documents to register to vote.
As we were told, everyone receives confirmation that their documentation has been received, and all applicants will receive their decisions on time. In addition, interested voters are encouraged to register by Friday, October 2, at 5 p.m. Chicago time so that staff have enough time to enter all applications into the system, which closes in Serbia at midnight on Saturday, October 3 (5 p.m. Chicago time).
For example, if 50 applications arrive at 3 p.m. Chicago time on Saturday, staff will not be able to enter all of them into the system by 5 p.m. Applications that remain after that deadline will therefore not be able to be entered into the system, and those citizens will not be able to vote.
Completed and signed forms, together with a photocopy of a valid passport or ID card, or a printout of a chip-enabled ID card, should be submitted to the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago by email at izbori.cikago2026@mfa.rs, by mail to the Consulate General at 201 E Ohio St, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60611, or in person at the Consulate on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
