Serbia is expected to hold a snap parliamentary election on Sunday, October 25, according to reports in the Serbian media citing unofficial information from sources close to the country’s leadership.
The Serbian government is reportedly preparing to submit a formal proposal to dissolve the National Assembly. The president would then issue decrees dissolving Parliament and calling the election, officially marking the start of the campaign.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on August 20 that the election would be held on either October 18 or October 25, adding that the final date would be announced shortly. The latest unofficial reports indicate that the later date has been selected. 
Under Serbian law, an election must take place no fewer than 45 and no more than 60 days after it is called. If voting is scheduled for October 25, the election must be called no later than September 10.
The date will become official only after the National Assembly is dissolved and the presidential decree calling the election is issued.
Serbian voters will elect 250 members of the National Assembly. Voting is also organized abroad, generally at Serbian embassies and consulates, provided that the legally required number of voters registers at a particular polling location.
Serbian citizens who wish to vote and live within the consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago should, once the election is officially called, follow announcements on the Consulate General’s website regarding voter registration and polling locations.
